Sewing Artisan
Hello! I am a dedicated sewing enthusiast with a background in hat-making. My passion for the craft drives me to continually develop my skills and explore new techniques. I embrace every opportunity to learn and challenge myself in my sewing projects, aiming to enhance my creativity and expertise in the art of sewing.

As an experienced hat-making seamstress based in Athens, Greece, I am well-versed in both traditional and modern techniques. With four years of dedication to my craft, I am skilled in operating sewing machines, as well as performing hand-stitching techniques to create high-quality hats.
Paying close attention to detail, performing meticulous work, possessing good hand-eye coordination, and having the ability to adapt and learn quickly while functioning as part of a team are essential skills for working in a hat studio.
My key responsibilities included creating and sewing ribbons, leather sweatbands, steel wires, trims, liners, lapel cords, and buttons. I was also responsible for cleaning, packaging, and preparing the hats for shipment.
A sample of my work is presented below, along with some personal sewing projects.

Showcasing the Art of Hat Making
Working at the hat studio involved using a variety of sewing techniques.

One of the first skills I learned was assembling and sewing sweatbands, including detailed zigzag stitching and the accurate placement of the bows.

Placing steel wiring into flat, wide-brimmed hats is essential for enhancing their structure and durability beneath the trim.

A daily task at my job involved applying trims to rolled and flat brims using ribbons of varying widths (⅝", 1", and 1¼"), ensuring an elegant appearance.

I am also skilled at fitting ⅝" and 1" decorative trims to both flat and snap-brim straw hat styles.

In addition to ribbon-bound brims, I practiced executing single and double-stitched trims.

With my custom-designed lining patterns, I can create liners that accommodate various hat sizes and crown shapes.

A simple yet meticulous task involved creating and placing various ribbon designs - including, among others, single and double bows, square and shark gill bows - applied with ribbons ranging from ⅝" to 2", as well as placing leather bands.

Lastly, I have experience in creating and placing lapel cords and buttons on various hat designs.

Driven by a passion for sewing and learning new techniques to hone my skills, I dedicate a lot of my personal time to various sewing projects.
Envelope-style cushions and pillows are essential for developing basic sewing skills, thanks to their clean lines and straightforward construction.

To achieve a more polished finish, I learned how to incorporate zippers and piping.

Creating a handmade apron from scratch, I focused on the design and placement of functional pockets, finishing it with bound edges.

By combining this prior knowledge with the addition of buttonholes, I crafted my first handmade bag.

Recently, I began making reversible bucket hats and handmade cuff bracelets, an exciting new project with many decorating options.
